I. Support national chapter launches & development

  • Four dues-paying student chapters on the campuses of the University of Michigan, Bowling Green State University, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Wisconsin-Madison (6 more chapters currently in Development status).
  • 200+ student & alumni members
  • Support & student engagement from industry leaders such as Andrew Taylor, Russell Willis Taylor, Ken Fischer
  • Annual Chapter Summit (2009)
  • Development/Execution of major cross-campus events such as the Orchestra Summit at U of M (2010), AE Symposium (Madison, 2009) and Eric Booth UofM Residency (2007)

II. Support the creation & launch of new business/social enterprises

  • Business incubation at Bowling Green State University
  • Business partnership leveraged AE's brand for a long-term chapter web development contract and free Arts Enterprise website (with TwistUp Media, to launch May 2010)
  • Cross-campus service learning/community support program with New Orleans Outreach (yielded major donor & partner support for New Orleans)

III. Support career development of members 

  • Jobs & career services support has helped win employment for AE alumni in organizations like IMG, Pacific Symphony and Google
  • We have created internships for students at New Orleans Outreach, DomesticCorps (UofM) and Arts Enterprise.  AE involvement has helped win students internships in several other organizations.
  • Degree advising & coaching for dozens of students considering/entering the workforce.  Several AE students have added dual degrees or switched majors and career paths after AE exposure.
  • Project-based research and community work with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Ann Arbor Arts Alliance, American Guild of Organists

IV. Demonstrate impact of AE nationally

  • Arts Enterprise Logic Model created (2010)
  • Outcomes report on Arts Enterprise service learning project (2008)

V. Disseminate knowledge about AE

  • Website at ArtsEnterprise.com and blog at ArtsEnterprise.blogspot.com (new site under dev)
  • Chapter support materials: Chapter Development Guide; Guide to Student Entrepreneurship; Individual Membership Guide (2009); Chapter Website Template (2010)
  • Conference talks at BECOME (Brevard), NASM, College Music Society Summit on Music Entrepreneurship, Imagining America Conference.

VI. Establish a sustainable national organization

  • Board of Directors established
  • Established Executive Director, Alumni Coordinator and Internship positions (part-time, volunteer basis)
  • National Advisory Board in development

All outcomes accomplished with no major program or operational support
