In order to succeed in this increasingly complex environment, student leaders need cross-disciplinary skills such as teamwork, project management, networking and community-building. Further, students need access to exploring different career options.  Unlocking the potential for such skills-building at Universities requires cross-campus collaboration in programs not bound to institutional silos.

The AE model of student-driven clubs provides college students with the platform to build skills and work across disciplines.  We promote action-based, experiential learning that enhances the formal degree path.  As non-institutional organizations, chapters have to be creative to find resources (human and financial) to support programming.  And they are efficient – generally AE chapters leverage funds from multiple campus constituencies at a fraction of the cost of institutionalizing similar endeavors.  As Universities struggle to find funding and a place in their curriculum for this very important subject matter, the AE model provides great value to students, faculty and administration on college campuses across the country.
